Michael, with over 20 years in the restaurant industry, began his culinary journey as a pizzaiolo in 1999. However, it was in 2015 that the concept of DOUGHPE® private dining came into existence. This endeavor reflected Michael's pursuit of balance, a quest ignited by years of restaurant ownership that left him emotionally and mentally exhausted

For Michael, the mission was clear: to restore balance in his life, create a harmonious work-life blend, and, above all, to spend quality time with his wife Angela and their two sons, Pasquale and Massimo

“In 1995, I relocated from Monte Di Procida, Naples, Italy, to settle in Sayreville, New Jersey. It was here that my father opened the restaurant, providing the perfect environment for my craft, skill, and trade to develop. In 2006, I acquired full ownership.”

“From 2009 to 2019, I was awarded Best Pizza in Middlesex County, NJ, by the Home News Tribune Readers’ Choice Contest and in 2015, ranked 22nd best pizza in New Jersey by  NJ.com. With the support of my wife, Angela, who dedicated over a decade working alongside me, I successfully achieved all my goals. Shortly thereafter, we committed to starting a family, and DOUGHPE® was founded as an exit”

During the early years of DOUGHPE®, Michael's commitment to events was limited due to his daily responsibilities at the restaurant. Therefore, once a month, Michael and Angela partnered with resepcted chefs from New York and New Jersey to host exclusive private events

The year 2020 brought an unprecedented challenge to the restaurant industry with the onset of the global pandemic. Michael displayed an entrepreneurial spirit by diversifying his business. He introduced the concept of his private pizzeria, offering patrons the luxury of restaurant-quality dining in the comfort of clients’ own homes

In 2021, Michael was compelled to resign from his ownership position due to legal and partnership obligations, which presented him with the opportunity to fully commit himself to DOUGHPE®
